Making every mile matter: London Marathon 2024

News and comment

We are in awe of our team of 15 superhuman runners who took on the London Marathon on the weekend! Not only have they conquered a huge personal challenge, but they’ve also raised a phenomenal £26,000 for seriously ill children and their families across the country.

Meet the team

We are endlessly grateful to Tim, Kev, Chris, Andrew, Emma, Steve, Amy, Harry, Maxine, Sean, Eddie, Louise, John, Alex and Dom – every single one of them gave it their absolute all and have shown so much dedication in their training and fundraising

Every penny helps seriously ill children and their families

Money raised by our team of remarkable runners will help children living with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, and their families. Children like Isla.

Diagnosed with Gorlin Syndrome at the age of two, Isla’s rare disorder causes developmental delays and skeletal abnormalities. In 2020, Isla was also diagnosed with kidney cancer, at which point her family was introduced to the amazing people at ellenor. For Isla’s mum Gemma, the community care they receive from ellenor is everything.

ellenor is always there – as medical and mental support. The nurses are so sweet. If we ever end up in hospital, or Isla is poorly, they text me to ask if there’s anything they can do to help. They do the medical stuff, but they’re also there for a nice chat. They’re such a lovely team.
