We’re so excited to announce a new partnership with the Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation (IFCF), which has created the IFCF Moments That Matter Fund to help families caring for children with serious illnesses create precious memories together.
Thanks to a £170,000 commitment from ICIF, the Moments That Matter Fund – which will open later this year to referrals from professionals – will give families across the UK access grants of up to £5,000, helping them enjoy special experiences and quality time together when they need it most.
Because every moment matters
The opportunity to laugh together, make memories and enjoy time away from everyday challenges is something we believe every family should experience.
Yet hospital appointments, medical routines, caring responsibilities and financial pressures often leave little time, energy or money for the activities many families take for granted. A day out, a short break away or a long-planned family holiday can feel out of reach for the families we support.
That’s why we’re so proud to be working with IFCF to help make these experiences possible.
Giving families the freedom to choose
The IFCF Moments That Matter Fund is designed to give families the ability to choose when, how and where they want to make memories together.
For some, that might mean a trip to the seaside. For others, it could be a family day out to the Zoo, a much-needed short break with accessible accommodation, specialist equipment to support an experience, or a dream holiday they’ve always hoped to take together.
Whatever the experience, the aim is simple: to help children and families spend meaningful time together and create memories they will cherish forever.
A partnership built on shared values
The fund has been made possible thanks to the generosity of the Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation and the fundraising efforts of Tarsem Dhaliwal, Group Chief Executive of Iceland Foods and Trustee of IFCF, who completed the London Marathon earlier this year.
It’s incredibly rewarding to know that the money raised through my marathon challenge will help kick-start this initiative, with my son, Paul, and his wife, Sian, helping to lead the work going forward. We're honoured to work alongside Together for Short Lives and contribute to the important impact they have made and continue to make.
