There are 49,000 seriously ill children in the UK with health conditions that mean they may die young – this is equivalent to one child in every school across the UK. Yet imagining what life is like for these families can be difficult. Leading UK children’s palliative care charity, Together for Short Lives has produced a series of infographics to help people visualise the impact caring for a child with a life-limiting condition can have on families and to illustrate how the charity is here for the 49,000.
From today (5 October) we will be sharing our infographics on social media using #HereForThe49000. When a child is diagnosed their family’s whole world is turned upside down – many don’t know where to go for support. The new infographics explain the effects on those who love, care and support these children, and how many families can struggle to get the care and support they need. If you love or care for one of the 49,000 please join us by sharing your experiences too using #HereForThe49000.
