Ben Woolner

Based in Cumbria Ben works as a Family Service Coordinator on the Kentown Programme. Ben works closely with seriously ill children and their families, working with them to identify their needs and help them navigate services available to them. Ben works to promote and enhance quality of life to all families who are reached by the programme and will be working with specialist palliative care nurses and Rainbow Trust family support workers to ensure that families can access the services they need.

Prior to working with Together for Short Lives Ben spent several years working with children and young people in residential children’s homes providing support to them through difficult situations. Ben has used his outdoor background to facilitate experiences for these young people and witnessed the benefit in their wellbeing as a result. Ben is a keen advocate for promoting wellbeing through time spent in nature this translates across his personal life too and outside of work Ben enjoys walking outdoors with his family, supporting his partners with wild swims or running in the Cumbrian fells
