Rosa Monckton

Patron

The Hon. Rosa Monckton MBE has been a Patron of Together for Short Lives since 2006. Rosa built a career as a businesswoman, becoming founder and Managing Director of Tiffany & Co London and Chief Executive of Asprey & Garrard. Rosa has two daughters, Domenica and Savannah. Domenica has Down’s syndrome, and her godmother was the late Diana, Princess of Wales.

Rosa is an active disability rights campaigner, having written about, and presented documentaries on, the realities of caring for a disabled child and hate crime against those who are disabled. Rosa is also Patron of Acorns Children’s Hospices, the Down Syndrome Educational Trust, and a Trustee of the Gilbert Collection at Somerset House.

Rosa actively supports children’s charities in Europe, too, including being a founder member of the Bulgarian Abandoned Children’s Trust and Patron of Downside Up, a Moscow charity for children with Down’s Syndrome.

In 1997, Rosa became a member of the Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Committee and is currently a Patron of the Diana Award.

“When Together for Short Lives asked me to become a Patron, I was humbled, and delighted: delighted because it is an obvious place for me to sit. I have an interest in all children’s palliative care, and Together for Short Lives is the only umbrella organisation for all these vulnerable children.”
