These two free one-day workshops are an opportunity for providers and professionals in Yorkshire and Humber who care for children with life-limiting conditions – and those who commission them – to understand and prepare to pilot NHS England’s new draft service specification for children’s palliative care.

The new specification is consistent with the government’s end of life care choice commitment, National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidance and the NHS Long Term Plan (LTP). It sets out how universal, core and specialist children’s palliative care in England should be organised and provided through managed clinical networks (MCNs).

The Yorkshire and Humber region has been selected to pilot the draft specification. These workshops will give commissioners and providers in the region the information they need to prepare for the pilot – and an opportunity to develop an action plan.

What you will gain

During this second workshop, attendees will have an opportunity to draft and refine a plan for piloting the new specification, supported by colleagues from NHS England and Together for Short Lives.
