World-class celebrity Magician, Mind Reader and winner of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent, Richard Jones, has become an ambassador for Together for Short Lives.
Together for Short Lives got to know Richard after he was crowned winner of the tenth series of Britain’s Got Talent, and since then he has supported the charity at several fundraising events including the annual Midsummer Ball hosted by Together for Short Lives’ Patron Simon Cowell. Richard is now one of the most recognisable entertainers on television, performing for the Queen in The Royal Variety Show and starring in his own prime time ITV show ‘Operation Magic’.
To announce his new role for the charity, Lance Corporal Richard Jones will be releasing a magic video inspired by the Together for Short Lives butterfly logo within a very special magical illusion; this will be shown during Children’s Hospice Week in May (21-27 May) to generate support for the charity’s #LifesShort campaign.
“I am planning a very special illusion which I hope will highlight the importance of the work of Together for Short Lives,” said Lance Corporal Richard Jones. “I feel very honoured to become an Ambassador for such a worthwhile charity. I continue to be inspired by the incredible and vital work they carry out and the stories of the incredible families who they support. The reason I love magic so much, is because magic is all about enjoying the wonder of life in the present moment. What I believe to be important, isn’t the amount of time we have, but instead, how we spend the time that we are given. It is important for us to cherish every moment. By offering care and support, Together for Short Lives allows families to make the most of every moment they have together. I am very pleased to continue my support for the charity and look forward to meeting some of the families they support.”
Barbara Gelb OBE, CEO for Together for Short Lives welcomed the news, adding:
“We are thrilled that Richard has joined our team of ambassadors and know this will be a magical relationship. Richard is a true master of illusion and has generously supported our vital work with seriously ill children for the last two years – delighting and intriguing us all. Richard sprinkles magic wherever he goes, and we know he will be a tremendous support to the children, young people and families we are here for.”
