Please ask your MP to attend vital Westminster event

Across the UK, children’s hospices are a lifeline for thousands of seriously ill children and their families, providing more care and support than ever before. However, rising costs and an ongoing lack of sustainable funding means their future is becoming increasingly unsustainable.

Over the past year, encouraging steps have been taken through the government’s announcement of £80 million in ringfenced NHS funding for children’s hospices over three years, alongside £125 million in capital funding for both adult and children’s hospices.

But despite these welcome developments, children’s hospices continue face significant difficulties in accessing the long-term, sustainable funding they need.

Ask your MP to attend a key parliamentary event

On Tuesday 16 June 2026, the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Children Who Need Palliative Care is holding a reception in Westminster to mark Children’s Hospice Week.

  • Date: Tuesday 16 June 2026
  • Location: Terrace Dining Room A, House of Commons
  • Time: 3pm-5pm (speeches at 4pm)

This reception will give MPs a chance to:

  • celebrate the extraordinary care and support provided by children’s hospices
  • listen directly to a parent of a seriously ill child who has accessed children’s hospice care
  • hear how they can help secure a sustainable future for children’s hospice care in parliament.

At this event, Together for Short Lives will also share findings from our latest report, providing insights into current funding arrangements for children’s hospices and how they can be sustainably funded going forward.

But we need your help to ensure MPs attend.
