Andy Fletcher

Andy Fletcher will be Together for Short Lives’ new CEO, replacing Barbara Gelb OBE, who is due to retire in June 2018. Andy will step into his new role as CEO on 25 June 2018.

Dr Hilary Cass, OBE – Together for Short Lives Chair said:

“I’m delighted to announce Andy Fletcher’s appointment as Together for Short Lives’ new CEO. Andy is an outstanding and accomplished charity leader, with the knowledge, vision and ambition to lead Together for Short Lives’ bold five-year strategy ‘Together for the 49,000+’. Andy has a strong track-record in children’s palliative care and a long-term passion for improving the care and experience for seriously ill children, young people and families. We look forward to Andy leading our ambition to deliver change so that children’s palliative care services are adequately funded, understood and supported, and every child and family get the very best care and support.”

On his appointment Andy Fletcher added:

“It’s a privilege to be appointed as CEO for Together for Short Lives, a charity I know well and am passionate about. It’s an exciting time for the charity as it embarks on delivering a bold new strategy for change to help make sure that the UK’s 49,000 seriously ill children and young people, and their families get the very best care and support. There is much to do to ensure children and families are empowered and get the right support, that services are sustainable and co-ordinated and that the public better understands children’s palliative care and the vital role it plays in children’s lives. We cannot achieve change alone. I will look forward to working with families, Together for Short Lives’ members and partners, and all those involved in children’s palliative care, to deliver lasting change – so no child or family is ever left behind.”
