Please ask your MP to attend vital Westminster event

Help make sure seriously ill children and their families get the care they need.

We need your help to ensure MPs hear directly about the challenges faced by seriously ill children and their families.

On Tuesday 25 March 2025, the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Children Who Need Palliative Care is holding a reception in the House of Commons – and we need as many MPs as possible to be there.

Why is this important?

Right now, 99,000 children and young people in the UK are living with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions. Yet their access to palliative care remains a postcode lottery – meaning far too many seriously ill children and young people are going without the vital care and support they need.

At this reception, Together for Short Lives will highlight key findings, providing a crucial insight into the extent to which seriously ill children and their families across the UK can access palliative care that meets national quality standards.

MPs will also have the opportunity to hear directly from a parent with lived experience, meet children’s palliative care providers and find out how they can help in parliament.

Ask your MP to attend

Your MP has the power to raise these issues in Parliament and push for change. By inviting them to this event, you can help make sure children’s palliative care is a priority.

Please use the form below to help. The reception takes place on Tuesday 25 March 2025, 3pm-5pm in Terrace Dining Room A of the House of Commons. Please remember to include the date, time and venue of the meeting and your name and address. This is really important to make sure your MP knows that you are one of their constituents.

Thank you for your help.
