Center Parcs support Children’s Hospices

News and comment

We’re delighted to announce the start of a two-year national partnership with Center Parcs to raise money for children’s hospice services across the UK.

The partnership is all about putting families first and helping families caring for a seriously ill child to spend quality time together by supporting the work of local children’s hospices.

Children and families rely on frequent breaks at their local children’s hospice to enable them to spend time as a family, doing the things that other families do – recharging batteries, creating precious memories and spending quality time with their siblings.

Over the next two years, the passionate staff at Center Parcs villages will be hosting one-off events, activities, competitions and raffles to support children’s hospices in their area. Guests will also have the option to make a donation when they book a break, and Center Parcs generously match all pledges up to £50,000 a year.

Short breaks for families

Center Parcs has a history of supporting families caring for a child with a life-shortening condition and has been gifting short breaks at their villages to families through Together for Short Lives for a number of years – gifts that will continue as part of our partnership.

The breaks have provided much needed respite for families like the Stanley’s, who visited Center Parcs last year with their son Adam and daughter Orla – Adam has complicated health needs and uses a wheelchair. Describing their trip, Mum Emily told us: “We had a great time, our son Adam was very excited to go on holiday with us and take part in the activities such as swimming and cycling along with his sister Orla using the “Duet” wheelchair-adapted bike we hired while we were there.

“Thank you very much for this holiday – Center Parcs was a great place for us to go, its been a long time since we’ve had a holiday that we have all enjoyed together. Having specially adapted accommodation, including a profiling bed with adjustable side bars made all the difference.”

We are delighted now to have the opportunity to work even closer in partnership with Center Parcs to extend the impact of its support to help thousands of families across the UK.

“We are thrilled to launch our partnership with Center Parcs. We both share a passion for helping families make the most of their time together. Working with Together for Short Lives, Center Parcs are supporting the UK's 54 children's hospices, raising essential funds so that they can continue their vital work, helping thousands of families across the country to create special memories that will last a lifetime."

  1. What a perfect partnership-sharing similar values with the work of children's hospices. It will be exciting to see how this will also help raise the profile of each hospice partnered with a Centre Parcs site.
