Digital Care Forum Rules

The Together for Short Lives Digital Care Forum is a a free and private web space to enable people with a professional interest in the children’s palliative care sector to share ideas, discuss views and exchange information about children’s palliative care approaches. It is provided and maintained by Together for Short Lives. By joining and posting on the forum you are agreeing to abide by the following rules.

1 Membership

Access to the forum is restricted to professionals who work within the children’s palliative care sector, or others with a strong professional interest in the sector (eg academics or policy makers). Together for Short Lives retains the right to verify your role and refuse or remove membership from applicants or members who don’t meet this criteria. We will also ask all posters to identify themselves by their names and position when posting on the platform.

2 Posting policy

Please always post with kindness and respect for other members of the forum. Posts should also be accurate and made in good faith to the best of the posters knowledge. Together for Short Lives retains the right to immediately remove any posts it considers offensive, inaccurate, defamatory or otherwise disrespectful, and suspend or ban users as it sees fit.

As a poster if you see content that you feel is problematic please report it to a site admin using the ‘flag post’ facility, and Together for Short Lives will take steps to investigate.

Posts to the forum are made in ‘real-time’ to facilitate conversation and as such Together for Short Lives cannot and does not ensure that the contents of posts are either correct or up to date at the time of publishing. As such no user should act or refrain from acting based on information they read on our forum, without first taking steps to verify the information and obtaining legal and/or professional advice as necessary.

All opinions expressed on the forum are those of the individual member who posts, and not those of Together for Short Lives. Together for Short Lives makes no warranties, representations or undertakings about the content of any websites or documents referred to within the forum.

Any reliance that you place on the content of the forum is at your own risk and Together for Short Lives expressly disclaims all liability for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage occasioned  from the use, or inability to use, this information whether directly or indirectly resulting from inaccuracies, defects, errors, whether typographical or otherwise, omissions, out of date information  or otherwise, even if such loss was reasonably foreseeable and Together for Short Lives had been advised of the possibility  of the same. You should be aware that the law can change and you should seek your own professional legal advice if necessary.

3 Privacy Policy

Personal information you submit in the process of joining the forum will be stored and processed within the forum itself by Civilized Discourse Construction Kit Inc (Discourse), the third party that provides and hosts the forum platform. Neither Together for Short Lives nor Discourse will use your data for any other reason than the management of your forum account and communications with you about your account and activity.
