East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) supports families and cares for children and young people with life threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk.

Over the past 30 years, EACH has developed an enviable reputation in the field of children’s palliative care.

We are the largest provider of palliative and end of life care and support for children and their families in East Anglia, delivering a comprehensive range of services in our hospices, family homes, hospital and wider community.

All three of our hospices; The Nook (Norfolk), The Treehouse (Ipswich) and Milton (Cambridge) were rated OUTSTANDING by the Care Quality Commission

Working Hours: Full time and Part time considered

Working Pattern: x5 days over a 7 day working week

Regular weekend working

Salary:

£23,000 + circa £2,000 per annum in weekend enhancements based on working 2 out of 4 weekends, rates as below:

Enhanced Rates – Weekends, Evenings & Bank Holidays:

+ 30% Saturdays & Evenings

+ 60% Sundays & Bank Holidays

*A Full UK Driving License is essential for this role*

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic Chef/Cook to support the great work of our hospice. You will be working in the hospice, providing meals for our service users & their families as well as pre-orders for the team.

Do you have:

Previous experience in a similar role as a Chef/Cook. Working experience of time management, menu planning and stock control.
A full understanding of food hygiene and individual dietary requirements such as allergies.

Responsibilities include:

Cooking quality lunches for small groups.
Preparing evening meals for families when required.
Supporting functions and special requests which require catering. Stock management, Kitchen organisation and cleanliness.

The role:

Reports directly to the Facilities Site Manager. Supported by the rest of the facilities team
