Rainbows Children’s Hospice is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Youth Worker to join our team on a part-time basis, as a job share. Our Youth Service offers flexible, specialist services and activities to support and empower young people with complex needs.

About the Role:

As a Lead Youth Worker, you will work in partnership with our other Lead Youth Worker to provide high-quality, effective youth provision. This includes one-on-one and group support, emotional and practical assistance, information provision, and bereavement support. Your role will involve advocating for the needs of our young people and enabling their empowerment through tailored activities and support services.

Working Hours:

Job share, working 22.5 hours between Monday and Friday with some weekend/evening work required to support Youth events and activities.

Travel across the East Midlands, covering Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, and Northamptonshire.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage, lead, develop, and maintain a flexible youth service for young people with life-limiting conditions (13–25-year-olds), including individual and group activities.
• Collaborate with the Transition Lead to develop proactive services that meet the needs of young people accessing the hospice.
• Support Youth & Transition Support Workers in establishing support programs and transition pathways, developing links with external agencies.
• Line manage the Youth Worker, ensuring all aspects of line management are carried out.
• Advocate for the needs of young people and enable their empowerment.
• Provide one-to-one and group support, including emotional, practical, information provision, and bereavement support.

Requirements:

• Degree or professional qualification in Youth Work.
• Experience working with young people with disabilities, health care, or other related needs.
• Ability to research, identify, and respond effectively to the needs of young people at Rainbows.
• Experience running face-to-face youth work in the community, street, or other settings.
