Senior Team Leader – Education and Quality (Maternity Cover)

This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic clinical leader with a passion for quality and education to have a key influence to making a difference to the lives of children with life limiting conditions. Alongside the other Senior Team Leader – Education and Quality, you will work across all three hospice sites as part of the senior care leadership team.
Working under the Lead for Practice Education and Development/Deputy Director of Care – Quality, the post has two key portfolio’s and will provide a seamless link between Education and Quality.
About the Role:
Providing leadership (not line management) to the Team Leaders for Education / Practice Educators supporting the development of a strategy and framework to meet the workforce requirements and meet the service needs, helping to create links with external organisations to take forward Education and Training opportunities, supporting workforce development, talent management and strategic developments in care.
Working closely with the Lead for Practice Education and Development and Deputy Director for Quality, to ensure the quality agenda is taken forward including supporting the hospice based teams with audits, policies, standards and learning. The postholder will be visible across all three hospice teams, maintaining clinical credibility through working regular care shifts (enhancements for working unsocial hours will be payable).
To be successful you will be/have:
• Qualified RSCN or adult nurse with experience of improving quality and training staff to be confident and competent in their role.
• Knowledge and understanding of the needs of children and families with palliative care needs.
• Strong demonstrable motivational leadership skills including effective change management experience.
• The commitment and ability to champion the values and behaviours of Children’s hospice South West delivering our services reflecting the ethos of the organisation.
About Us:
An established and successful charity, Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) provides hospice care for children with life limiting conditions and their families in the South West of England. CHSW has three hospices Little Bridge House in North Devon, Charlton Farm in North Somerset and Little Harbour in Cornwall. CHSW delivers services to children and their families who have a palliative care need and meet the agreed referral criteria. The CHSW ethos is support the whole family making the most of short and precious lives and our current delivery model includes care wherever the child is when they need it most including care at the hospice base, at home and virtual support.
Location: Any of the three hospice bases with a requirement to travel to the other two bases.
This is a maternity cover post for circa 12 months duration.
