Support Care Officer
The organisation
East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) ensure the best possible quality of life and make every moment count for children and families across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk. Our family-centred approach includes specialist nursing care, symptom management nursing, short breaks, wellbeing activities, therapies, care at end of life, bereavement support, counselling and volunteer services in the family home; all meeting the individual needs of the child, young person and whole family.
In 2020, all three of our hospices; The Nook (Norfolk), The Treehouse (Ipswich) and Milton (Cambridge) were rated OUTSTANDING by the Care Quality Commission.
Our people are central to our success. We have a talented workforce of staff and volunteers in Care, Fundraising, Retail, Facilities, IT, Finance, Marketing & Communications and Human Resources.
We employ around 400 employees and have more than 1,800 volunteers across the organisation, including 49 shops and a Retail Distribution Centre.
Working Pattern: 3 days over 5 working days
Flexible – preferably Tuesday-Thursday
TEMPORARY Contract – 12 months
Do you have:
- Customer service experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience of working with Database’s
- Experience of collaboratively working with colleagues across departments / organisation
The role:
The Supporter Care Officer role involves providing excellent customer service as a first point of contact to our supporters. Each interaction will be a first-class experience, ensuring our supporters’ enquiries are dealt with promptly, politely, efficiently and empathetically.
The role includes making and receiving telephone calls, as well as monitoring and responding to enquiries in the charity’s main Fundraising Inbox. You will work with multiple teams to signpost supporters quickly and accurately to ensure their enquiry is resolved.
You will work on the charity’s database to add and update accurate data to support the Individual Giving team and wider Fundraising team. You will also write supporter communications in a compassionate, thankful and considered manner and resolve complaints with the support of your team.
