International Twinning (webinar recording)
Worldwide, only 14% of people who need palliative care currently receive it. 78% of people who need palliative care live in low- and middle-income countries. For children, 98% of those needing palliative care live in low- and middle-income countries with nearly half of them living in Africa.
Global Partners in Care (GPIC) supports access to compassionate care by establishing collaborative partnerships, supporting research and education, and raising awareness of the global need for access to essential hospice and palliative care services.
Together for Short Lives hosted this webinar from GPIC on 24 April 2019 to explore how hospice and palliative care professionals in the UK could partner with sister organisations in low-resource settings, and the mutual benefits such partnerships can bring.
This recording should be of interest to anyone in a decision making role within their organisation who has a passion for the development of international children’s palliative care.
