We are so pleased to announce an amazing two-year partnership with Proxima Group as their chosen charity.
This partnership with world-leading procurement and supply chain consultancy will play a crucial role in supporting our mission to ensure that families caring for a child with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition, can access the very best quality care when and where they need it.
Together, the partnership aims to raise £25,000 to directly support the charity’s efforts supporting seriously ill children and families. Proxima Group colleagues will be taking on a variety of fundraising challenges, events, and campaign activities to reach this ambitious target.
Strengthening support for families in need
With Proxima Group’s vital support, Together for Short Lives can continue to be there for families like Dee and Tilly’s.
Dee is mum to Tilly, who has Rett syndrome. Dee noticed that Tilly stopped making noises and moving around just before her first birthday. “We just knew that something wasn’t right and that it was probably something neurological”. Tilly’s family were given her diagnosis of Rett syndrome in 2018 when Tilly was just 18 months old.
Seeking support, Dee reached out to the Together for Short Lives helpline, “I emailed the helpline, and it was just amazing. I was just honest about how I was feeling. It’s a special skill to speak to parents of children with complex needs and life limiting illnesses, because you want someone who understands the enormity of what that looks like – and not everyone does.”
Our trained helpline team secured support for Dee within her local community to help her manage Tilly’s complex care needs.
Through this partnership we can help more families get the care and support that they need, whether that is financial, care advice, or simply to listen.
