Alesha Dixon named as Ambassador for Together for Short Lives

News and comment
Alesha Dixon

We are so excited to announce that Alesha Dixon, singer-songwriter, author and TV personality, is our new Ambassador.

We first met Alesha back in 2016, and since then she has already made a huge difference to the families of seriously ill children we support, through both our work with the UK’s 54 children’s hospices and our specialist Family Support Hub. From supporting us at our annual fundraising gala to backing our Children’s Hospice Week campaign, Alesha has shown so much dedication and compassion for seriously ill children and their families.

Recently, Alesha got to meet one such family we’re proud to support through Shooting Star Children’s Hospices – Zoë and her mum Britt. Zoë, who lives with a complex bone genetic disorder and a rare neurovascular disorder that causes mini-strokes and headaches, has been supported by Shooting Star Children’s Hospices for all her life, and its families like hers who Alesha will be helping as our Ambassador.

Welcoming the news, Alesha said:

I am so excited to officially become Ambassador for this amazing charity. Having met the families they support over the years, I know just how important their work is. Whether it’s financial, emotional and practical support to raising money for the UK’s 54 children’s hospices, I am so proud to support their vital work and cannot wait to properly get started.

Andy Fletcher, our CEO, added: “It’s an amazing day for us as we announce Alesha’s support as our newest Ambassador. As well as being an exceptionally busy and talented individual, Alesha’s compassion and dedication for others go above and beyond. We are so grateful for everything she has already done for the children and families we support and know she will continue to make a real, meaningful difference to seriously ill children and families across the country. Welcome to the Together for Short Lives family Alesha, we are so pleased to have you on board.”

With a career in the entertainment industry spanning over two decades, including numerous multi-platinum albums and UK Top 10 singles, Alesha will support us in ensuring the UK’s 99,000 seriously ill children get the best palliative care, when and where they need it.

Welcome to the Together for Short Lives family, Alesha – we can’t wait to get started.
