Together for Short Lives is the UK charity to make sure the 99,000 seriously ill children and their families can make the most of every moment they have together – whether that’s for years, months or only hours. We work with families and the brilliant people and services that support them – in hospitals, in children’s hospices and in the community – to ensure that children and families get the support they need.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our highly successful, passionate, and driven Practice Service and Development Team, to provide administrative support across the team and specific support for our new energy service. This is a full-time position, fixed term for 12 months.

The new energy service aims to improve energy efficiency and maximise money available to families of children with life-limiting/life-threatening conditions who are experiencing/facing fuel poverty. The postholder will provide administrative support to realise the service’s objectives of issuing grants to families and disseminating information through a campaign and workshops.
You will be integrated into our Programme and Service Development (PSD) team contributing admin support to the day to day delivery of our offer to professionals and families. Duties will include responding to callers via the main switchboard, posting out resources to stakeholders and ensuring that web enquiries are acted upon.

About you

You will be committed to providing a high quality service to all of our stakeholders and be able to prioritise tasks across a busy workload. With good time management, you will be able to work independently and have experience of setting up both online and face to face events.

Experience of processing grants and liaising with external partners is desirable. You will have excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.

Please note this role is office based (central Bristol) but there will be the opportunity to work from home at times (hybrid working). There will be the occasional need to travel to various locations across the UK, particularly in the South East area of UK.

For an informal and confidential discussion about the role, please email Julia.Hodgson@togetherforshortlives.org.uk to arrange a convenient time.

We are always looking for talented people, and welcome people regardless of age, disability, gender identity, marital status, race, faith or belief and sexual orientation. We particularly encourage applications from those with disabilities or from black and minority ethnic backgrounds, as these groups are underrepresented throughout the charity sector.
