Children’s Palliative Care Practitioner

Keep up to date

As a member, you will receive our monthly Leaders’ Briefing email with policy and practice updates that will affect you and your services, opportunities to help shape public policy and news from Together for Short Lives. We will also send you ad-hoc briefings and alerts about the big news updates you need to know about.

Network and share

We run free masterclasses and webinars for members as well as conferences. These are a great chance to meet up, update each other and share learning.

Our Leaders of Care events bring together senior clinical staff from across the sector to hear about the latest developments and discuss good practice in children’s palliative care.

We also hold regular summits to bring together the chairs of the UK’s children’s palliative care networks.

Publications

We produce a range of publications for professionals, including our care pathways for babies, children and young people in transition. These are all available in the professional resources section on our website. It’s also work checking our Member Resource Library where our members can share policies, research and expertise from their own services.

Research

We are often approached by researchers and academics looking for children, young people, families and professionals to take part in research. We are more than happy to share appropriate requests with our stakeholders. If you wish to explore whether we can help you to recruit subjects for your research project, email us to tell us more about your requirements.

Information and support for families

We provide a helpline and email information service for families, a range of publications and a service that provides free advocacy support from a volunteer legal professional for families who have particular issues with care packages or housing for example. Let us know if you would like some posters or flyers with the helpline details.

As the leading UK-wide charity for children living with serious illness, their families and the people who support them, we lead the movement to secure high quality children’s palliative care, when and where families need it.

As someone who works in a fundraising role at one of our member organisations, you will receive our monthly National Fundraising Scheme (NFS) newsletter with all the latest news on our current and prospective corporate partnerships, opportunities for you to get involved, and a spotlight on fundraisers in other organisations.

National Fundraising Scheme

Our NFS provides a source of corporate income for both Together for Short Lives and our members who provide children’s hospice services. Get in touch if you have any questions about how the NFS works, and how you can help your organisation benefit from this scheme (subject to eligibility).

Communications or Marketing

We run free communications webinars for members on different themes with time for a Q&A and discussion session.. As well as hopefully providing you with some helpful ideas to take away, they’re also a great chance to ask for advice and share learning. Check our events page for details about upcoming events.

You can find plenty of useful resources for HR managers in our member resource library, including examples of policies and HR strategies from our other members on issues including disciplinary/grievance, whistleblowing, social media, absence management and more…
