Count Me In: Children’s Hospice Service Provision

This report presents the results from the 2011/12 children’s hospice services data collection, carried out by a team at Durham University in partnership with Together for Short Lives. These figures are the most up-to-date research on Children’s Hospice Service provision we are aware of.

There is a need for improved and consistent local and national data about the prevalence and needs of children and young people with life-limiting conditions and the palliative care services that support them. The project aims to contribute to the improvement of children’s palliative care services by further developing a systematic approach to the collection of data from children’s hospices in the UK. It also includes a feasibility study on collecting data from other third sector children’s palliative care providers. (This is reported separately in the main report).
