Cancer is not only an illness to be treated by healthcare professionals. It is also always a challenge for individuals and their families, most especially their children, to be met with courage, mutual connection, and hope mediated by the nature of family interaction and family belief systems. Sargent features the experiences of members of six families who went through the diagnosis and treatment of a parent with cancer.
