James Arthur single breaks sales records
The Official Charts Company confirmed yesterday that James Arthur’s single Impossible has clocked up sales of 255,000 to midnight last night. This is boosted further by the single’s CD release today, bringing the total so far to over 300,000 sales. This sales will benefit charity Together for Short Lives to whom Syco are donating all proceeds. The total already surpasses Little Mix’s full week sales for Cannonball last year, and puts James as the fastest selling single of 2012.
No previous X Factor finalists’ debut single has hit such heights so quickly. Barbara Gelb, CEO of Together for Short Lives comments, “Thank you to everyone who has bought the single. As well as launching a talented new singer, the single will bring us valuable funds to help us with our work with all those who love and care for children with life-limiting conditions. If you haven’t done so already, please buy or download one – every single bought will make a difference.
